Peggy W. Brill, PT, OCS
Peggy W. Brill is a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopaedic physical therapy with 16 years of clinical experience. After receiving the “Award of Excellence” she gratefully accepted a scholarship from John F. Kennedy Medical Center which employed her upon graduating magna cum laude from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1989. JFK Medical Center offered diversified hospital rotations that included pediatrics, sub-acute traumatic brain injury, acute cardiopulmonary, chronic pain clinic, women’s health, outpatient orthopaedics and sports medicine. Peggy adopted an integrative treatment approach for assuring lifelong health and has made staying strong and living well a goal for every patient.
Now celebrating an eleven-year business anniversary, Peggy owns and maintains Brill Physical Therapy’s two Manhattan private practices which offer executive services that include two major Wall Street firms - Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse. In January 2004, Peggy completed her Advanced Masters in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy from Touro College of New York.
As the proud author of two books - "THE CORE PROGRAM: 15 Minutes A Day That Can Change Your Life" (2001) and "INSTANT RELIEF: Tell Me Where It Hurts and I’ll Tell You What To Do" (2003), Peggy Brill has presented her books and work for the Today Show, CBS Special Report, CNN’s choice for "Unusual People in Business", Fortune’s Most Powerful Women in Business, California Governor’s Conference, Duke Center for Integrative Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine and Duke University men’s basketball team. Peggy has also been featured in numerous magazines-Vogue, Shape, Prevention, Fortune, Bottomline Health, and Fitness. She has successfully helped thousands to relieve pain and return to the joy of actively living.
Khaled Nasr, PT, MS, DPT
Khaled is the Clinical Director – 1585 Broadway, 2000 Westchester Avenue
Khaled gained his doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, He Has over 15 years of clinical experience in Outpatient Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy with focus on integrating manual-based approach and therapeutic exercises in orthopedic rehabilitation.
Khaled Has held previous appointments as a clinical physical therapist in Egypt, New Zealand, Australia and New York. Khaled’s experience includes extensive training in Ergonomics and work related musculoskeletal injuries. He is certified as Ergonomics Specialist from The Back school of Atlanta. In addition, Khaled obtained his certification in personal training from the National Institute of Endurance in 2004 with focus on postural correction and therapies exercises.
Stephanie Leaf, P.T., D.P.T
Stephanie is the Clinical Director – 11 Madison Avenue
Stephanie received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Buffalo, and has completed her Post-Professional Doctorate degree with a specialization in Manual Orthopedics from Touro College. She graduated with cum laude honors from both Universities. Stephanie also holds certifications in Pilates (CPI), and Ergonomics (CES) as well as completing continuing education courses for osteoporosis and in craniosacral therapy.
Stephanie has worked in a variety of areas of Physical Therapy in New York’s leading hospitals and rehabilitation institutions. She believes in a holistic approach, integrating all systems to decrease pain and restore movement while achieving optimal function. Stephanie strives to educate her patients to promote lifelong well being, health enhancement, and prevention from further injury.
Stephanie became a partner at Brill Physical Therapy in 2006 and is dedicated to the practices integrative and comprehensive evaluation and treatment of all clients.
Joseph Whelan, P.T., O.C.S. Physical Therapist
Joseph C. Whelan brings seven years of manual physical therapy experience to Brill Physical Therapy. Previously Joseph was working at Long Island University in Brooklyn where he developed their Healthy Back Program, Biomedical Foot and Ankle assessments along with orthotic casting. Joseph received his degree in Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University in 1998 with cum laude honors. He will be completing his Advanced Masters in Orthopedic Physical Therapy at Touro College in Bay Shore, LI in January 2005. Joseph continues to take additional post professional courses in manual therapy, which he incorporates in his treatments and his patient's home programs.
Lauren Buchsbaum, P.T. Physical Therapist
Lauren graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Movement Science and received her Master's degree in Physical Therapy from Hunter College. Lauren joins us after working at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases where she focused on outpatient physical therapy. Lauren is continually strengthening her knowledge with a variety of continuing education courses to enhance her manual and orthopedic skills. She is dedicated to providing personalized and quality care to all of her patients.
Andy Tsui, PT, MS. Physical Therapist
Andy brings substantial manual therapy experience and a passion for healing to Brill PT. A graduate of Columbia University, he spent several years in California honing his manual skills before returning to his native New York. His extensive continuing education has made him eligible for MTC (manual therapy certification) and COMT (certified orthopedic manual therapist) certifications. He has training in multiple approaches including Maitland Australian Physiotherapy, Stanley Paris and muscle energy, as well as ergonomics. He has worked in both private and hospital settings exposing him to many diagnoses and the various challenges that they bring. Andy enjoys sharing the healing process with his patients and tailoring their individual therapy to meet their unique lifestyles & needs.
Dorota Majewska, Massage Therapist
Dorota Majewska is a professional New York licensed massage therapist that specializes in deep tissue therapy, body integrate issues, trauma and injuries. She attended The Swedish Institute in New York City and has a decade of practice with top wellness facilities in New York. She has wonderful hands for relieving pain and tension.
Donnell A. Henton, Certified Pilates Instructor
Donnell is a native of Michigan with over 20 years of experience in the world of physical well being. Certified by the world renowned Power Pilates of New York City brings his vast knowledge to Brill with intent of developing the maximum of body awareness, control and results through the many facets of the Pilates training system.
Rebecca Millstein, Certified Pilates Instructor
Rebecca Millstein received her B.F.A. in Modern Dance from the North Carolina School of the Arts where she studied Anatomy, Kinesiology and Pedagogy in addition to her arts education. Rebecca received a Pilates Mat certification from Power Pilates and Mat and Apparatus certifications from Kane School of Core Integration. She also holds a personal trainer certification through A.C.E., physio ball instructor certification through Resist-A-Ball, Myofascial Energetic Length Technique (MELT Method) certification, and is a Cranio Sacral Therapist trained through the Upledger Institute. She works with a wide range of clients, including those with spinal fusions, scoliosis, Parkinson's and Multiple Sclerosis as well as pre-and postnatal women, and Breast cancer patients and survivors. In addition to her private practice, Rebecca teaches group classes at studios and fitness centers in New York City, and has taught at Barnard College, Columbia University and Beth Israel Medical Center. Her goal is to help her clients find more confidence and freedom of movement.
